EDITED
Dealing with extremely low exposure can be difficult when editing. I did my best to add warmth to the following photo of Sam and Will.
Starting out with cropping, I adjusted the view, positioning the photo as more “straight forward” and level. I added some brightness, exposure, and tuned down the “whites and blacks” to add some contrast between the dress and suit. I added less saturation and more warm tones to enhance the photo while limiting the orange.
FINAL
This one was a little more complicated, trying to move and mirror the background to make it as seamless as possible, took some time and attention to detail.
The branches and tree-lined path of 13th street, makes an excellent sunlit background to capture the beauty of campus and beautiful Sam.
The blur effect highlights Sam’s natural emotions and actual smile. Adding warmth to the photo reflects the natural daylight we were working with. The warmth also brings out Sam’s skintones and limits the blue tones.
